North Hudson Elementary Staff:
I hope you all have had a well deserved break during June and July. Can you believe we are back to August already? Our kick off schedule order is a little different than past years. On Monday, August 29th we will begin with a breakfast at North Hudson (8:15am) followed by our building staff meeting at 9:00am. Tuesday at the Hudson High School is the district wide breakfast and welcome back with keynote speaker Todd Whitaker.
We have some new colleagues for the 2016-2017 school year that I'd like to introduce. Anissa Young was hired as the North Hudson and Houlton gifted and talented teacher. Kate Johnson will be teaching art on Day 1 at North Hudson, and Amy Anderson will be our new speech therapist at North Hudson. Also Marcy Krier is returning to full time status, and will be at North Hudson everyday this fall. We are lucky to have Steve Schoenecker join the North Hudson team as a tech integration coach, as well as Dani Taplin as our new occupational therapist. Finally Melissa Hines will be full time this fall with most of her time spent supporting students in our intellectual disabilities-moderate program.
Doug and the custodians are almost ready to wax the hallways. If you are wondering about the status of the hallway outside your classroom, feel free to give Doug a call on his cellphone prior to coming in (715)-222-6442.
As a reminder, the Pepper Fest Parade is Saturday, August 20th, and it begins at 11:00am. Those of you planning on participating please be at NHE Door #1 by 10:30am. I will be driving my pickup truck (you may walk or ride in the back), and our theme this year is North Hudson Students Keep on Truckin’.
I have included as a link our building and district schedule during our in-service days Welcome Back Schedule. I am hosting an all staff get together at my house (953 Florence Lane) on Wednesday, August 24th at 4:30pm. My wife Heather and I will provide a taco bar with all the fixings, lemonade and water. If you would like an additional beverage, feel free to bring your drink of choice. I thought having our social a week before you’re all officially back to work, will allow for a more relaxing time. Please RSVP to me if you’ll be able to attend.
Also on Wednesday, August 31st we will have our building SPED and Therapist scheduling meeting from 1:00-3:00pm.
