Thursday Late Start and Tornado Drill

North Hudson Staff,

A reminder on Thursday, prior to starting our late start staff development, we will be meeting at the high school to come together from 8:00-8:30am for breakfast and to celebrate moving forward with secondary space.

There will be some short comments by Dr. Oullette and after which we will return to North Hudson Elementary for about an hour worth of PD around Gmail and Google calendar. This PD will be rolled out at three separate sessions simultaneously depending on your proficiency level around Gmail and Google calendar:  novice, practitioner or master. Thank you Amanda McCarthy, Kelli Hedlund and Heather Mathews for leading these sessions. To get you ready for the 14th, you'll need to start forwarding your Outlook email to your new Gmail account. Your Gmail accounts have been activated and are currently available, if you would like to begin using it.

To get started with Gmail now, use these directions to forward your Outlook 365 messages to Gmail.  Please forward your Outlook email and begin using Gmail prior to our late start on Thursday, April 14. You may also want to delete emails (or outdated email folders) out of your Outlook 365 prior to forwarding your email messages to Gmail, so you won't have to delete unwanted emails later from this new account.

To provide you some front loading regarding the new email prior to the late start, Nancy Dressel has created this Youtube video located on the HSD Technology Integration Site. Gmail Video Tutorial. Also on this site are the leveled training resources in case you'd like to explore them prior to April 14th.

On the afternoon of April 14th, Wisconsin will be conducting a state wide tornado drill. We will begin our mock watch at 1:00pm and our tornado warning drill at 1:45pm. Please review in your emergency folder the location your classroom goes to in case of a tornado. Here's a link to the Wisconsin Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week:  April 11-15.
